Palancar — Caves & Gardens
Cozumel's signature reef: a long run of dramatic coral buttresses split by swim-throughs and white sand channels. Two faces — the gentle Gardens and the deeper Caves — so there's a Palancar dive for almost everyone.

Diving Palancar
Palancar is the reef most divers picture when they think of Cozumel. Massive coral buttresses rise from the slope and are carved with tunnels, archways and overhangs, separated by bright channels of white sand — a three-dimensional reef you weave through rather than swim over.
Palancar Gardens is the easier, shallower face, roughly 12–18m, with rounded coral heads, sandy lanes and gentle structure — a relaxed drift that suits all certified levels and makes a beautiful second dive.
Palancar Caves sits a little deeper, around 18–25m, where the coral closes into genuine tunnels and overhangs you can swim through. It's an intermediate dive — good buoyancy keeps you off the coral in the tighter sections. Turtles graze the structure and eagle rays cruise the sand edge, so keep glancing out into the blue.
