Towering coral pinnacles rise from a sandy bottom around 25–30m, forming canyons and ridges you drift between. It's Cozumel's big-animal dive — your best odds of turtles, eagle rays and the occasional reef shark.

Diving Columbia Deep
Enormous coral pinnacles standing alone on a sand plain, rising from 25–30 m. You drift between them rather than along a wall.
The scale and open sand make this the island's best site for larger animals: turtles resting in the structure, eagle rays along the edges — in groups in the cooler months — and the occasional reef shark. Big sponges and gorgonians on the pinnacles.
The depth and drift make it a true advanced dive. We run it with air consumption and buoyancy in mind, and Nitrox is our preferred choice here.
